Founded in 2014, Madken Advisors focuses on transforming financial operations through technology upgrades, system integrations and improved reporting. Our primary service offerings include software implementation, data migration, report writing, and process redesign to help our customers realize operational efficiencies and improve controls.

 

While initially Madken Advisors provided technology and business process services primarily for private equity back-offices and middle-offices, family offices, and hedge funds, over the years our staff and clients have diversified and we now serve a variety of other industries including Biotech, Energy, Staffing and Professional Services firms.

  • Perhaps the heaviest lift in a system migration is moving your historical data into the new system.  Unlike many implementation providers, Madken Advisors has the expertise and experience to help your team convert, load and reconcile your legacy data in your new ERP.  Do you have data that lives outside of your current GL that you would like in your new ERP as well?  We’ve got you covered.  This service takes a large amount of work off your team and speeds up delivery of the project.

  • With many implementation providers, once the project is finished then you may not see or hear from them again.   • How fast can I be implemented onto Sage Intacct?

  • Short answer: Generally 1-4 months

    Long answer: Depending on the complexity of your install, how much historical data is being migrated and how much customization you require we generally see customers go live in 1-4 months; after go-live there is typically a few weeks of loose ends to tie up, and there may be other phases that you decide to complete post go-live

  • How many years of historical data can I migrate?

  • Short answer: as much as you want.

    Long answer: The strategy we use to migrate data allows us to consume and map as much data as we want without too much additional overhead. Sometimes customers prefer to only keep 3-5 years of data, however, if the old data has lots or inconsistencies or issues and they want a clean start.  Regardless, our goal is to convert your data in a way that the old data will look just like your live data when you are running reports

  • Can I convert and migrate the data myself?

  • Short answer: Absolutely, but…

    Long answer: One thing to consider is the internal resources you have available to get the data converted. Often this part of the project can be a heavy lift and the day-to-day gets in the way and creates a bottleneck.  Our goal is to get up to speed quickly on your business needs and leverage best practices and our expertise to speed the delivery of the new ERP.  However, we can also work with you and your team to make sure you have all the tools and guidance you need to convert and load your own data if you prefer

  • Does every system implementer also help with data migration?

  • Short answer: No

    Long answer: Often you will hear “it’s your data and you know it best” and you will receive an import template and some guidance on how to use it to move your data. Or they will bring in a third party to help, which creates an extra handoff between the design team and the data conversion resource.  With Madken Advisors, your project team will be able to handle both the design and the data migration.  This simplifies the process, reduced handoffs and delays and speeds up the project.

  • Can you help with improve our reporting?

  • Short answer: Absolutely

    Long answer: All of our consultant team members have hands-on reporting expertise and real-world accounting experience better understand the design requirements and develop the report without handing it off to another resource.  We have experience writing reports on multiple platforms including SSRS, Tableau and Sage Intacct.
